Highlanders Volleyball Club Makes History, Clinches National Premier League Championship

In a thrilling finale, Highlanders Volleyball Club defeated Black Rhinos 3-2 to secure the Volleyball Premier League championship title. The hard-fought victory marked a triumphant conclusion to the National Premier volleyball league, which wrapped up yesterday at Hillside Teachers college.

Vice Captain Murphrey, who also received the Best Receiver award, expressed his pride and relief. “It was a great day, but also a difficult final. We were trailing, but we fought hard. This championship is for ourselves and the badge we carry – Highlanders.”

Murphrey acknowledged the club’s struggles, particularly with travel expenses, and appealed to the business community for support. “We struggle, especially when traveling for our league games. We hope the business community will come through for us.”

Highlanders journey to the top was remarkable, considering their third-place finish last season. “Sikwenzile! (We did it)Murphrey emphasized.
