Simba Bhora and Highlanders have been slapped with a $6,000 fine each over crowd trouble that occurred at Wadzanai Stadium in the Chibuku Super Cup match.
Further investigation revealed that the Chibuku Super Cup and Castle Lager Premier Soccer League operate under different rules. Contrary to initial claims, Wadzanai Stadium was chosen by the competitions board, exercising the power granted to them by the participating clubs.
The board’s decision effectively made both teams “home” teams, rendering the venue dispute moot. The fines, handed down by the governing body, aim to emphasize the importance of respecting competition rules and procedures.
